Keep Central Texas at Work | Little Ladies Day Spa in Killeen
Stephanie and Eldridge Moses opened the spa for the little girls so they also have a place to go
KILLEEN, Texas – In the heart of Killeen, in an indescribable mall not far from the gates of Fort Hood, there’s a little place like no other that makes little girls feel like princesses.
“Knowing that you belong somewhere and being able to feel important and knowing that you have a place that’s just right for you is special,” said Stephanie Moses, who owns and operates Little Ladies Day Spa with her husband Eldridge.
Moses, a second-grade teacher at Peebles Elementary School, said Killeen had no room for little girls and after having her twins last year, she was inspired with her husband, Eldridge , to provide something the city needed.
“When we have a place for the kids, it really doesn’t last long. It’ll last a few years and then it kind of goes away,” said Moses.
This is where the Little Ladies Day Spa is different, she hopes, because it is unique and her family has been there for a long time in this community they like to call home.
“We want to have a sustainable place for little girls to feel special and important and know that they are worth something. I think being pampered, even as an adult, makes you feel like that, so we want to contribute to it, ”she said.
Little Ladies Day Spa, which opened last month, hosted five very special little girls on Tuesday for a party with their favorite TV character, CoComelon, a toddler cartoon program filled with educational songs and nursery rhymes. .
While each little girl got the chance to have their nails and toes painted, they also got the chance to have lunch and take photos with CoComelon. This isn’t the first time a TV star has spent an afternoon at Killeen, just the week before Peppa Pig and Minnie Mouse were due to make an appearance in the next few days.
The Moses family said they also hope to make a difference for children in foster care and hope other companies will help them sponsor children to feel special and cared for.
“Just to allow little girls to understand how important and special they are in this world and to be able to offer that to children in foster care, it leaves us speechless to know that this is an opportunity that we can. offer it to them, “said Moses, adding that they would partner with Garden of Hope Central Texas, a non-profit organization whose mission is to ease the initial transition to foster care.
And as the party wrapped up, the cupcakes and snacks with CoComelon were almost done, 6 News asked Moses what she would think about tonight when she rested, knowing she was making a difference in a person’s life. child.
“The joy, the joy that we brought to their faces,” she said, nodding and smiling. “It means everything, that’s what we’re here for. Making their dream come true for them, that’s what it is.”
