New hair, who says? Kelly machine gun certainly experimented in the beauty space – often leaving fans scratching their heads.
From a slash mid-neck tattoo to his black tongue at the Billboard Music Awards, the 31-year-old singer isn’t one to shy away from a style statement.
But his latest change has gone under the radar – until now. When Kelly played a rooftop gig with Travis Barker earlier this month and in the time that followed, the “Bloody Valentine” frontman rocked noticeably longer locks.
The Gap has many fans asking if the singer has extensions – or even a wig.
One fan asked, “Machine Gun Kelly did you get any hair extensions?” I need to know because if not … I need to know what vitamins you are taking. Help a girl. Another added: “Today I found out that MGK put extensions in her hair and they didn’t magically turn into a mop.”
Other fans believe the musician is actually covering his real hair with a wig in order to disguise his transformation for an upcoming movie.
Kelly was featured in a musical drama film called Good News, where he will play a “rising but troubled musician,” according to Deadline.
While his longer locks might be for his next movie role, it’s also possible that the “My Ex’s Best Friend” singer just wants to express himself through fashion like he has in the past.
In March, he decided to dye his hair turquoise blue, showing off his new shade on a date with his girlfriend. Megan Fox.
Just as he experimented with his hair, Kelly also had fun with his fingernails, making a major statement at the 2021 iHeart Music Awards.
For the event, he turned to manicurist Brittney Boyce for acrylic tips over three inches long. Her ensemble featured a mix of studs, leaves, and straight silver chains, undoubtedly making a statement.
His wild manicure followed his groundbreaking black tongue, which he debuted at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Using an unknown type of paint, Kelly dyed her tongue black for the evening.
“Special accessory for tonight,” the star captioned her Instagram Stories ahead of the event, showing off her tongue painted black with a cotton swab.
Kelly’s affinity for having fun with hair and makeup also continues in her professional life. The singer will launch a nail polish line called UN / DN in the fall.
