Man charged in nail salon sex battery case returns to court for pre-trial
July 20 — Nam Huu Nguyen is charged with three counts of sexual assault after being charged with assaulting two women and a minor while employed at a local nail salon.
Nguyen was apprehended in New York after charges were laid against him in Payne County, and was returned to Stillwater.
Nguyen is represented by lawyer Royce Hobbs, who requested a reduction of the bond on three occasions, each time refused.
It was determined that Nguyen has no connection to the community and that the bond is not an excessive amount set at $ 75,000.

Joseph Scott Rood has three pending cases against him, all involving child sex crimes. He was charged in 2019 with these crimes.
It is scheduled for a refit on Tuesday afternoon.

Jon David Wattenburger, 57, was due to have a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning before Judge Michael Kulling, but that date has been postponed.
Wattenburger was charged with sexually touching a 13-year-old girl in 2019. During a forensic interview, the victim recalled another incident that occurred when she was much younger.
Wattenburger will have a preliminary hearing on August 17.
