As of 03/17/2021, family / church visits with Mill Valley Care Center (MVCC) residents and Sunrise Villa Assisted Living (SVAL) tenants have resumed, as conditions / precautions allow it. The number of visitors to the building is limited and all visits must be scheduled in advance. On 4/22/2021, artists and volunteers were allowed to follow CDC guidelines and wear a mask; with almost daily updates from 07/12/2021. Please call / telephone before visiting, as conditions may change.
Thank you to all families of residents and tenants for reaching out to staff to plan their visiting hours with loved ones and follow recommended guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing, when “connecting” with their families during weekdays and weekends.
Internal activities resumed and / or individualized or small group activities Activities are with residents and tenants and visits resumed, where possible, following appropriate social distancing, staff wear masks and following CDC guidelines.
Residents, tenants and their families are encouraged to connect with loved ones with scheduled tours, or via phone calls and / or video chats, are available throughout the day.
Individualized room visits or monthly visits are scheduled for Presbyterian Church service (with Pastor Shannon Witt) and for Lutheran Church service (with Pastor Paul Gammelin) resumed. Catholic Church services (with Pastor Dennis Miller or Associate Pastor David Ambrosy) resumed weekly operations on Wednesday or on local Channel-32 cable for Catholics over the past week and Sunday.
The Lutheran service on local cable Channel-26 was held for Lutherans on Sunday.
Individual in-room “exercises” or “small groups” took place with residents last week.
Individual in-room “Manicures” or “Small Groups” took place with MVCC residents and SVAL tenants last week, depending on their abilities.
“Happy Hour with Dietary” was served with residents and tenants during the Friday afternoon.
“Manicure” available with SVAL tenants and MVCC residents on Friday afternoon.
Thanks to the two staff: Kayla Griebel and / or Mary Jo Konrardy at SVAL over the past week and weekend for their help.
Thanks to Marlyce T. (tenant, volunteer) for leading the Rosary prayers at SVAL for Catholics on Sundays.
“Coffee & Conversation” took place with tenants and residents in the morning of Sunday.
“Games” are offered with tenants in their rooms or at the SVAL tables in the afternoon from Monday to Friday.
Euchre Club was available at SVAL on Monday afternoon.

“Outside Porch & Exercises” was available with residents by mid-morning Tuesday.
Bingo games were held with the tenants of the SVAL during the afternoon of Tuesday with Joy M. (staff). Thanks to Marlyce T. and Marie B. (tenants, volunteers) with Vincent S. (tenant, volunteer bingo caller) for their help in Tuesday activities.
The “Prize Box” was held with residents on Tuesday afternoon.

Thanks to Rev. David Ambrosy (Associate Pastor, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue, Iowa) for hosting Catholic Mass and Communion Service at SVAL mid-morning Wednesday. Thanks to Marlyce T. (tenant, volunteer) for helping to recite the Rosary prayers. Thanks to Joy M. (staff, volunteer) for distributing Communion for / to residents mid-morning on Wednesday. Thanks to Rev. David Ambrosy for spending time (1: 1) with other tenants.
“Bingo” games were held with “Ice Cream Refreshments” with the residents on Wednesday afternoon. Thanks to Richard H. (resident, volunteer) for his help with the Wednesday activities.
“Music Box” with Joy M. (staff, disc jockey) was held with residents and tenants during Wednesday evening.
The ‘community outreach’ at KMAQ radio station (Maquoketa, Iowa) for its 24/7 service and dedication to the community of Bellevue and surrounding areas was expressed by handing them a thank you note and tokens of appreciation Wednesday.
“Lifelong learning with assembling a puzzle of images of nature scenes” was conducted with residents during the afternoon of Thursday. Thanks to Kelly O’Donnell (Millennium Occupational Therapist, volunteer) for her help and volunteer time during this activity.
“Souvenirs and Adult Coloring” took place with residents on Thursday afternoon.
Thanks to Vincent S. (tenant, volunteer) for welcoming the “Dominos” at SVAL during the afternoon of Thursday.
Thanks to staff / volunteers: Pam Reedy (Administrative Assistant), Jill Huling (Diet Supervisor), Theresa Schwager (Environmental Services Supervisor), Susan Eversole, Deb Fultner, Megan Meier, Joy Marchiando (Director of Recreation Program) and other unnamed staff involved for their help in connecting residents, tenants and families via phone calls, video chats (Apple FaceTime, Facebook, Skype, etc.) ie ” Connecting with Families ”, and / or assisting family visits with residents (at MVCC) and / or tenants (at SVAL), and for helping Activities over the past week.
