Nail art ideas, based on your zodiac sign
Most people have already come to the conclusion that astrology can be used as a tool to help us better understand ourselves and the way we interact with the world around us. But it can also help you choose a nail art design the next time you go to the salon. Each element of the zodiac – fire, earth, air and water – shares dominant traits that help determine our style preferences; this idea can help us choose the nail color or nail design that matches perfectly.
Before, I spoke to astrologer Alice Bell to create a list of nail designs that best match the specific traits of each zodiac element.
Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
For fire signs, Bell recommends leaning towards bright colors like a bright red or a fiery orange. “Fire panels will likely feel right at home with a design that makes a statement or is a little more flashy,” she adds. Glittery nail polish hues, wavy lines and printed patterns are also a potential design option for Leo and Sagittarius, Bell explains.
Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Earth signs are likely to feel comfortable with more neutral hues, including clean, sheer nail polish, and classic patterns. “They want nail colors that are really practical and suitable for the job,” says Bell. “They will find traditional nail styles like a French manicure to work well,” she adds.
Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Aquarius and Gemini are two signs who are ready to follow nail trends and try out bold, “exterior” designs that others might avoid, Bell notes. Libra is a little weird when it comes to air signs – because they appreciate art and beauty, they’re willing to dip a toe into fun and quirky designs, but they’ll keep their nail art more tame than they do. an Aquarius or Gemini.
Scorpio, Pisces, Cancer
“Scorpios are drawn to dark colors,” Bell says, but that doesn’t necessarily mean black nail polish; it can be a dark red tint or an inky green tint. According to Bell, Pisces are drawn to similar tones: “I would recommend something like a shimmering purple for Pisces,” Bell says. Cancer is the most nostalgic sign, so trends from the past like ’90s smileys would do well, Bell adds.
