These nail designs will be everywhere this fall
In case you haven’t noticed, the nails are in place right now. In fact, the events of the past 18 months have allowed us to express our creativity through nail designs in hundreds of different ways. Whether it’s via a nude and polished finish to make us feel united, a range of rainbow colors to inject joy into our day, or something a little more artistic to serve as a creative outlet, we ourselves. let’s all turn to our fingernails as a way to feel good.
This theory is most applicable in the fall. As the days get shorter and the weather gets darker and more gloomy, finding small ways to cheer ourselves up and feel good about ourselves should be the priority. So, fall nail trends are, if you ask us, among the biggest and most monumental beauty trends of the year.
So if you are always not on the nail design hype, take that as a sign. Whether you are looking for an understated finish, something chic and simple, or something daring and extravagant, there is a fall nail trend for you.
To get ready for the upcoming season, we took a look at the Fashion-Girl Nail Pack to get a feel for the types of designs they are adopting right now. Get your inspiration boards ready – this is all the fall nail design inspiration you could ever need (and a few tools and products that can help you recreate the styles at home).
1. Dripping Polish
This is without a doubt the biggest (and if you ask us, the best) nail trend of the season. Currently on the nails of virtually all types of the chicest fashion, the drip manicure can be performed with any color you like. For an understated look, go for a nude base with a pastel grout, or if you’re feeling a little more daring, use two contrasting colors like green and purple.

2. Waves and eddies
Retro waves are everywhere right now and can be incorporated into virtually any nail design. If you’re trying it out for yourself and you don’t have a particularly steady hand, try a single whirlpool. However, if you’re already a nail art fan or heading to the salon, we couldn’t be more in love with this intricate green pattern. In fact, sage green nails are definitely one of our favorites for the coming season.

3. Reverse skinny French
The skinny French manicure has been a big hit this year thanks to Harriet Westmoreland’s understated and chic designs, and for fall, it’s changing things up, literally. We call this style reverse skinny French, and that involves using a very fine brush to create a little accent along the cuticle. And the best? You can use any shade you like. (Although we’re all for this classic white and nude combo.)

If there is a person who knows about chic nail designs. it’s Betina Goldstein, and this style is no exception. In fact, we’ve seen his now iconic checkerboard styles appear on our feeds left, right, and center, and we want to be a part of that. When you mix wintry hues with spring colors, a neat checkerboard is the ultimate fall style.

5. Skinny halo
Taking the skinny mani to the next level, the skinny halo incorporates both a fine French tip and a thin line on the nail bed to create a sort of halo effect. Keep it all in one color or mix white with cute pastels like this. It’s the ultimate way to inject some sunshine into an otherwise dreary fall day.

6. Molten metals
While sequins and highlights can be reserved for the winter months, in fall it’s all about metallic. Embrace both negative space and drip trends by applying metallic polish or gold foil to the tips. We couldn’t be more in love with this if we tried.

7. Set sail
If you like your nail art to be understated but still appreciate the slightly different designs, the sailboat design may be for you. If you are doing it at home, paint the entire nail in one color, wait for it to dry, and create a veil pattern using manicure guide stickers to create your shape.

This season, it’s all about kissing a fun, carefree beauty, and we see that most clearly in nail art. While flames, smilies, and cherries can be tricky to perform by hand, shop for nail wraps and stickers so you can achieve professional-quality nail art at home with great ease.

There are few things more classic than red nails in fall. And if you consider yourself a huge fan of color but want to find a way to make it a little more fun, now is the time to get abstract. Create quirky squares on a red base using pastel pink tones for a modern twist on a classic look.
